1947

From a humble beginning in Nagoya

In 1947, KOMEHYO began as a second-hand clothing store in Nagoya during Japan's post-war reconstruction era. As the country entered its era of rapid economic growth and consumers sought higher-quality goods to improve their living standards, KOMEHYO expanded its product offerings to include jewelry, watches, cameras, and other electronic appliances.

1990

The Turning Point

The economic recession of the early 1990s created new opportunities as consumers sought greater value in luxury items. KOMEHYO pivoted strategically, evolving into a second-hand luxury retailer focused on branded bags, jewelry, and premium goods. This shift positioned the company as a pioneer in Japan's luxury resale market.

2004

Historic Stock Exchange Listing

KOMEHYO became the first second-hand trading company to be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, a historic milestone that provided the capital for nationwide expansion and cemented its position as the leader in Japan's organized resale market.

2013

Global Expansion Begins

KOMEHYO began its first international expansion with the establishment of KOMEHYO HONG KONG LIMITED, making its entry into the Asian luxury resale market. The company proceeded its expansion into Mainland China, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, focusing on major metropolitan markets with established luxury consumer bases.

2024

KOMEHYO Enters the US Market

In July 2024, KOMEHYO established its first North American operations in New York City. Entering the world's largest luxury market marks the company's most ambitious international expansion venture, introducing nearly eight decades of expertise authentication and retail to American consumers.
